You are invited to WVXU’s FREE teacher’s workshop presented by Democracy and Me educational consultant David Clark.

Get digital curriculum resources, lesson plans, and creative ideas for your Social Studies classroom. Participants will be introduced to the Democracy and Me teachers’ website and receive FREE lesson plan materials.

A Certificate of Participation for 3+ hours of professional development will be available at the conclusion of the workshop.

Saturday, September 9: Service Learning and News Literacy
8:30 am – 11:30 am

Empower your students with the 21st Century Skills of critical thinking, problem solving and cooperation. This session introduces activities and resources for utilizing Service Learning in your classroom.

Plus, we’ll have a look at resources that are available to help students identify ‘fake news’ and build their news literacy, based on grade level, depth of content, and ease of set-up and use.

Attendees will also have opportunities to share resources, network, and explore those resource presented in the session.
