It’s an election year! Democracy and Me welcomed the Kentucky Girl Scouts and Girl Scouts of Southwest Ohio for a podcasting workshop. The workshop focused on the importance of voting rights and highlighting women in history who made a difference in women’s suffrage such as Lucy Stone, Ida B. Wells, Fannie Lou Hamer and Abigail Adams. The scouts participated in Voting Rights trivia, a scavenger hunt, toured the WVXU station, and created their own short podcasts. Listen as the troops reflect on their newly found knowledge on women’s suffrage in the US and women leaders that helped to pave the way for voting equality.
